VALUES & APPROACH

My work philosophy is grounded in trauma-informed practice, prioritising safety, trust, and pacing that respects your history and neurobiology. As no two people have the same problems, perspectives and emotional responses, I take time and care to develop a treatment that will work for you. I have trained and am experienced in working with several evidence-based modalities, including:

  • Psychodynamic psychotherapy

  • Person centred (Rogerian) psychotherapy

  • Relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy

  • Third wave CBT approaches (mindfulness, acceptance, values, spirituality and metacognition)

My commitment to the principles of humanistic, relational psychotherapy makes us partners in thought, rather than doctor and patient. Within these parameters, I aim to provide you with thoughtful and productive challenges to self-limiting beliefs and patterns of behaviour that we identify together.

I aim to remain attentive to your developing and changing needs and preferences, and pace the treatment so that you can work at your "growing edge" without feeling pressed. I am always open to feedback about your treatment experience, and believe that exploring your experience of me and our work is a valuable component of the process.

If you are curious but unsure of your needs, I invite you to get in touch to discuss your situation.
