I am a registered clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, and member of the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. I hold a Masters degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling, as well as degrees in philosophy and fine arts. I have worked in institutional settings, including as primary therapist at South Pacific Private, and now work exclusively in private practice.
I am trained and experienced in working with several modalities, including:
Psychodynamic psychotherapy
Relational psychoanalytic psychotherapy
Person-Centred (Rogerian) psychotherapy
Third wave CBT approaches (mindfulness, acceptance, values, spirituality and metacognition)
Interpersonal (Yalom) group psychotherapy
As no two people have the same problems, perspectives and emotional responses, I take time and care to conceptualise and develop a treatment plan that will work for you. All of my work is grounded in trauma-informed practice, prioritising safety, trust, and pacing that respects your history and neurobiology.
I regularly attend conferences and courses, and am in ongoing supervision with a consultant psychotherapist, to continually expand my skills, knowledge and perspective. I have also personally been a long-term client to several psychotherapists who helped me enormously in different ways, and come to this work with lived client experience. From this context, I have helped many clients, just like yourself, overcome self-defeating patterns, discover values and purpose, and move towards satisfying and meaningful relationships.
You are welcome to contact me, to see whether I am the right therapist for you.
